NOTE ON EL-8 PACKAGES

I am currently looking at the RHEL 8 Beta release with a view to working out how to support it. The packages here are ones that I've needed to build other packages that I'm actually interested in, and are generally just rebuilt versions of the packages in Fedora Rawhide. I don't really want to support or produce ongoing updates for any of these packages; they're just here because I need them to build other things and other people might find them useful too.

In the longer term, it looks like the way packages are shipped for EL-8 is going to be rather different than the way it's been done before. For instance, there are two different perl stacks supported by way of different module streams in the AppStream repository. I expect that I will structure my own repository for EL-8 in the same way, using modules, once I've figured out how best to do that. In the meantime I'm just figuring out what I'll need to build, and the packages here are a start point for that investigation.
